The EVO20i compact design allows you to store it easily and transports in the back of a van or car. Weighing only 20kg combined with a molded top handle makes carrying and transportation easy. Powered by the Evopower 100cc 4-stroke OHV engine, the EVO20i produces 2000w / 2.0kW and is more than capable of powering televisions, small air compressors for inflatable beds, electric heaters, power tools laptops, lights, etc.
The control panel features one 230v socket for use with any appliance which uses a standard 3-pin 13A UK mains plug, as well as a 12v DC battery charging outlet, so it’s ideal for a variety of uses. Q. Can it be joined with another identical one to double the power?
A. Suitcase inverters are not suitable for this kind of application. Please give us a call on 01437 700123 and we can provide a solution for your requirements.
Q. Can it be used for charging gel caravan batteries. Also, can it be used in the rain? Thanks.
A. The generator is suitable for gel batteries subject to the charger being rated at below 2000W. The generator can be used in rain, however, it is advised to keep it undercover, but not enclosed during sustained rain.
Q. Can you charge 12v SLA batteries with the EVO2000i?
A. If the charging unit for the SLA batteries is 230v then it is recommended you use this, and plug into the generators 3-pin socket. There is a 12v charging socket and leads that come with it, but it is not recommended to charge this for long periods as the voltage can fluctuate too much.
Q. What is the fuel capacity please? How long can it run for typically in contiuous operation?
A. The fuel tank is 7L, however this brings it right up to the brim, so fuel spillage can be an issue. They can run on roughly 1L of fuel per hour when on half of the continuous load, so the EVO2000 should be able to do 6-7 hours if running at no more than 1kW, based on continuous load being 2kW. Typical run times are between 2-4 hours, we have found in most user experiences, but we've run tests on extremely low loads and have got them up to the 9-10 hour mark, so it is all load dependent.
Q. Hi I am considering the Evopower EVO2000i 2.2kW Suitcase Inverter Generator for use on a seagoing yacht to power lights, fan heater or oil filled radiator (not at the same time and using 2kw max with 1kw usual). TV and computer may also be used intermitantly. Coud you advise if this unit is suitable for this use. Thanks Donald Wright
A. Yes in essence, this will work and as long as your have accurately measured your induction on the load at start up. If you believe that the peak power required at surge is 2kW, then you should be able to run your items, at least individually. Everything else should be fine though I do feel it is important to draw your attention to a) heightened dangers when using petrol equipment on a water-going vessel. If there is a petrol leak or spillage, the petrol vapour given off from the petrol will accumulate at the bottom of the boat hull, as it is heavier than air. The slightest spark (even turning on a light switch) could ignite this vapour and is very dangerous, so petrol spillage is the issue here, and b) salt water is an extremely corrosive substance to metals and can cause power machinery and engines to seize. Even exposure to sea air contains a greater amount of salt in than usual, so this has to be taken into consideration. Bringing the generator on the boat in the first instance won't mean you don't have a warranty, however, if salt or exposure to sea water does cause any damage, it is likely this will have an effect on the machine but won't be covered under warranty. However, I see no reason at all why the generator won't work, as long as you have your calculations on load and capacity accurate.

A. You do indeed get a warranty with this. It is a 1 year return to base warranty covering parts and labour.
Q. What grade of oil do you use for this generator?
A. SAE15/w40 is the oil we recommend
Q. is it 2 or 4 stroke?
A. It's a four-stroke engine, so no need for 2-stroke oil mixture. Just straight unleaded petrol.
