The second largest inverter generator in the Hyundai range, the HY3000SEi-LPG is the perfect generator for keen caravan, motorhome and camping enthusiasts. More than capable of keeping even the most demanding holiday requirements powered, this is a reliable and affordable power source for adventures away from the National Grid.
This is the dual fuel version of the HY3000Si which has been converted to run off LPG as well as petrol. Perfect for caravan users who routinely buy and store LPG, this version of the generator provides maximum flexibility and has many added benefits.
- It can be plugged directly into gas hookup on a caravan
- Further reduced engine noise, even lower than the 58dB produced when running on petrol.
- Improved combustion, as LPG reaches the engine in gas form, rather than liquid.
- Enhanced starting, even from cold, with a smoother ignition.
- The engine oil does not become diluted which results in lower servicing costs, however regular servicing is still recommended.
- Low cost, especially for users who already store LPG in their caravan.
- No need to have to store or bring a supply of petrol with you if you do already have a supply of LPG.
When a Hyundai inverter generator is converted to run off LPG, the option to run off petrol is still available, meaning you can use the fuel which suits the situation at hand best.
The HY3000SEi-LPG is also the electric and remote start version of the HY3000Si, giving the user the option of starting this inverter generator via the turn of a key, or remotely from up to 20 metres away using the remote control.
These new starting features, as well as the LPG conversion, are the only differences from the standard HY3000Si model, with the rest of the features and specifications remaining the same.
Despite the increased size and power, the HY3000SEi-LPG is still an extremely portable generator, weighing marginally more than the HY2000Si even with the LPG kit attached at 31.2kg. There’s a built-in carry handle to make transportation as easy as possible, and the compact dimensions allow for convenient storage in locations such as a caravan, camper van, motorhome or even car boot.
Powered by a 149cc Hyundai HX149 four-stroke petrol engine, the HY3000SEi-LPG produces a maximum output of 2.8kW. This impressive power is more than enough to power modern luxuries when you’re away from the mains supply, such as televisions, laptops, hair dryers and straighteners, lights, electric heaters and even air compressors for inflating beds and tyres.
Like all Hyundai inverter generators, the HY3000SEi-LPG produces a pure sine wave output which mimics the power produced by the mains supply and poses no risk to any sensitive electronic appliances. The control panel features 2x 230v sockets for use with any equipment that features a standard 13a UK mains plug, eliminating the need to bring any special adapters.
When running in petrol mode, the large 4.5L fuel tank can provide up to 11 hours of continuous run time at 25% load. This allows you to power your appliances for extended periods without having to constantly refuel the generator. When the “Eco” mode is engaged, fuel economy improves further, as the engine revs lower to match only the load which is being applied. This also extends the lifespan of the engine and lowers the level of noise output. .
Should oil levels drop too low, or if too much load is asked of the generator, the machine will simply turn off automatically to prevent any damage from being caused. This low oil shutdown and overload protection are two advanced features which all Hyundai inverter generators benefit from.
Regular maintenance of this suitcase generator is simple, and Hyundai’s fantastic support is always there to help you if you have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. My RV has two separate LPG tanks - a low pressure vapour feed tank that runs the heating and cooking , and a high pressure liquid feed tank that runs the 8 litre V10 petrol engine (when switched over to gas) . Do you know which of these two tanks would be the correct one to connect this Hyundai generator to ?
A. The LPG for the generator is a 38 millibar supply, so more than likely it will be your low pressure tank that is needed to run the generator.
